Our origins.
The story behind Nordic Chem began in the early 1990s with a clear goal: protect buildings from the visible damage caused by pollution, moisture, salt, and constant foot traffic. It started as a powerful exterior coating, a shield against grime, mould, algae, and early surface ageing. But that was just the beginning.
Our evolution.
Over two decades, the formulation evolved. First into the automotive world, where it became the first ceramic coating trusted by DIY users to replace waxes, with adoption in over 11 countries. Then, during COVID, it was re-engineered for the demands of the built environment and quickly became a go-to solution. Cleaning teams across the UK and beyond used it to help reopen facilities safely, maintain hygiene, and restore confidence across schools, offices, venues, and public spaces. That period sparked a new direction.

The team behind Nordic Chem had spent over 20 years in the commercial cleaning industry. We understood first hand that coatings couldn’t just protect, they had to solve real operational problems. Cleaners were under pressure to reduce labour, simplify routines, and still deliver high standards across high visibility surfaces like washrooms, floors, glass, and paving. So we did something no one else had. We purpose built a coating from the ground up for the commercial cleaning sector. It needed to apply easily with basic tools. It needed to last through real world wear and tear. It needed to reduce rework and deep cleans. And most importantly, it needed to make cleaning more profitable — not more complicated.
